How this estimate works
For a rectangular area, multiply length by width, subtract any excluded area, then add an allowance for cutting. Divide by the area of one tile and round up. Finally, round tile count up to whole boxes.

Quick answers
How much extra tile should I buy?
A 10% cutting allowance is a common starting point for simple rectangular installs. Complex patterns, irregular rooms, and diagonal installations can require more. Always confirm your actual layout.
Why does the tool round up to full boxes?
Retail tile is often sold in cartons. Full-box rounding may leave extra pieces even after the waste allowance is included.
Does this include installation labor?
No. The material estimate includes only the tile boxes and prices you enter. Mortar, underlayment, labor, taxes, and delivery are excluded.
